Went to the Harp and Fiddle1 last night for the first time and...

...I can chug a pint of Guinness in 4.27 seconds. Pretty slow considering that Suipe (sp?) from NZ pulled off 2 liters in ... 7 seconds? Or was it 12 seconds. Something obscene.

Maybe it's time to start training...

1 Nice place, but freakin' expensive. I won't be going back there anytime soon.

Been doing some more beer explorations than I've done in a while, so I thought I'd report some of my results:

I had a couple of other "Christmas" beers with my friend M.B., but I don't recall which they were. I wasn't particularly blown away by either though, as I recollect. They'd probably fall in the C+/B range. Similarly, I had a taste of some other Geary beers that [info]morleyroarly ordered in her sampler at the Jameson Tavern in Freeport, ME (which has great Nachos, btw), but I only had eyes for the Porter. I can say that Corsendonk Christmas was a winner last year, so if you're looking for a good seasonal, see if you can track that down.

Cheers!

Guinness

(66% dark & bitter, 66% working class, 66% genuine)

Okay, we all know Guinness is the best possible score on any "What Kind Of Beer Are You" test, so you can just go on and pat yourself on the back now. Like the world's most famous brew, you're genuine, you've got good taste, and you're sophisticated. What else can I say, except congratulations?

If your friends didn't score the same way, get ready for them to say: Guinness is too heavy; it's an acquired taste; it's too serious--and they probably think those things about you at times. But just brush 'em off. Everybody knows Guinness is the best. Cheers.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender (or in my case, the AGE and GENDER i made up to fill out this form):
